CommuniCare Health Services, operating as the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is a family-owned post-acute and long-term care provider founded in 1984 by Stephen L. Rosedale. It operates more than 105 skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, long-term care centers, assisted and independent living communities, memory care programs, inpatient psychiatric specialty hospitals and long-term acute care hospitals, serving roughly 13,000 residents at any given time. The company has operated across Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Missouri, and divested its Maryland and West Virginia assets in 2026.
